How do you put 94 years of a life well lived on a single page? You don’t, but trust us when we say that Nancy Paquette was an amazing force of nature.
Nancy Paquette has so many qualities that she shared with family, friends and even strangers. These qualities taken in combination is nothing more than pure unbridled love. Mom never met a baby she didn’t like; Mom was a surrogate mom to many. Mom had a genuine gift of wit and was fun to be with. Mom loved family and life, and we utterly loved her.
Nancey Louise Paquette was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. Nancy was the fifth child of seven in the union of Fred Howard Kingsbury and Freda Lillian Kingsbury (Bliss). She lived in Western Massachusetts for over 50 years. On November 6, 1948, she married the love of her life, Philip Edmund Paquette. After two years, they welcomed their first child, Philip Jr. Then they welcomed Bruce (Iwalani), Robert (Tracy) (Michelle passed) and followed closely by Paul. Finally, Mom and Dad welcomed their only daughter, Nancy (Dennis). The Paquette family was completed four years later with the birth of son number five, Roland.
They were wed until Dad’s passing on December 7, 2001; but Mom never believed in Death Do Us Part. Indeed, she never separated herself from her husband. Nancy was proceeded in death by her siblings Phyllis, Jane, Fred, Marion, Albert and Norma.
Mom loved Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy; and she loved to argue with Judge Judy. She enjoyed her Thursday night canasta group, and other dear friends at Orchard Bluff. Mom with the help of her surrogate daughter Linda, enjoyed making and sending homemade greeting cards. A frequent resident of Florida, she made cakes and candy with her dear sister-in-law, Teresa Donahue. Mom enjoyed Bible Study at Harper Church.
Mom also was given the opportunity to travel. Mom went on cruises, and went to Hawaii many times. She traveled back to the “old” neighborhood. Mom visited family and friends in Florida. She also went to Texas many times. Mom loved to see family but did not like the highways in Texas!
Survivors besides Nancy’s children: Sister-in-Laws Teresa Donahue and Mary Ann Kingsbury, numerous nieces and nephews, and Mom’s very best friend and work buddy, Anette Bleau. Mom was blessed with 19 grandkids, 26 great grandkids, and 5 great-great grandkids, whom she adored.
This is just a snapshot of how Mom meant to us; is to us. From the day she passed, our hearts were broken and still mending. But we take solace in what Mom left us: How to love, laugh enjoy each other, and everyone around us, unconditionally.
A memorial for Mom will be announced at a later date.
